People’s Representatives?

I’ve never posted much about politics up here. Though I’m sure the current atmosphere blends in perfectly with the content on here.

I saw this clip on youtube.

It has a recently elected parliamentarian batting away questions with “ahala kiyannang“, or “I’ll get back to you on that” with a giggle and a head-laugh.

Watch and be mortified. Makes you wonder what people are thinking when they go to the polls.

Since my Sinhala sucks I didn’t get most of it… But from what I could make out and just watching the video, I was terribly embarrassed for her!

this was a terrible interview and she came across as horribly unprepared. i hope they now do the same for sanath jayasuriya and all those who came into parliament on whims. but on the other hand, that would be all 225 of them. sigh.

Eeeek!Didn’t know whether to feel sorry for her or hit her over the head. The least her mentors could have done was prepare the poor girl.
